Résumé/Présentation

Il a été établi que la neurodivergence est associée à un nombre significatif de conditions physiques concomitantes, en particulier pour les personnes autistes qui sont exposées à un risque accru de douleur, d'hypermobilité (y compris le syndrome d'Ehlers-Danlos) et de problèmes gastro-intestinaux. Cependant, les données disponibles à ce jour se concentrent principalement sur les adultes et sont généralement limitées aux discussions sur la seule prévalence des affections. L'article suivant présentera une revue thématique de la littérature examinant les preuves d'une augmentation des préoccupations en matière de santé physique au sein des populations neurodivergentes, en particulier des personnes autistes, en mettant l'accent sur l'impact que ces problèmes de santé physique peuvent avoir en milieu éducatif. L'impact des préoccupations en matière de santé physique au sein des populations neurodivergentes en milieu éducatif peut être préoccupant. Ces populations peuvent faire face à divers défis pour obtenir un soutien adéquat pour les conditions physiques. Nous abordons plusieurs de ces défis, notamment : les difficultés de communication, l'attribution erronée des symptômes de santé physique à la neurodivergence, et un historique de non-crédibilité qui limite la déclaration des symptômes. Nous examinons également l'impact potentiel de ces préoccupations de santé physique sur le développement scolaire et social, tels que les effets sur les résultats et la fréquentation. En outre, nous fournissons des recommandations aux enseignants, parents/tuteurs et autres professionnels associés dans la vie des jeunes pour soutenir les jeunes neurodivergents ayant des préoccupations de santé physique.
