Les diagnostics d'autisme à l'âge adulte ont considérablement augmenté ces dernières années. Bien que cela puisse offrir des avantages, de nombreux adultes autistes rencontrent des difficultés à gérer leur nouveau diagnostic. Notre revue avait pour objectif de synthétiser les preuves concernant le soutien post-diagnostique pour les adultes autistes sans déficience intellectuelle diagnostiqués à l'âge adulte au Royaume-Uni : en examinant la disponibilité, l'efficacité et les expériences des adultes autistes. Une recherche systématique dans quatre bases de données biomédicales et trois bases de données grises a été effectuée pour identifier les études menées au Royaume-Uni et publiées depuis 2012. Un total de 27 581 documents ont été examinés en double, avec 19 études sur le soutien post-diagnostique incluses. Une synthèse narrative a été réalisée en raison de l'hétérogénéité attendue. Un exercice de cartographie des services a également fourni un résumé des services post-diagnostiques actuellement disponibles au Royaume-Uni. Les résultats indiquent que de nombreux services au Royaume-Uni offrent des informations et des orientations comme forme principale de soutien post-diagnostique, alors que les adultes autistes souhaitent des services de soutien de faible intensité, de la psychoéducation et du soutien par les pairs. Il n'y avait pas de preuves disponibles concernant l'efficacité du soutien post-diagnostique. Cette revue souligne la nécessité d'un soutien adéquat pour atténuer les défis post-diagnostiques et améliorer la qualité de vie des adultes autistes. Les services de soutien de faible intensité, la psychoéducation et le soutien par les pairs semblent acceptables et réalisables, avec une préférence souvent exprimée pour un soutien dirigé par des autistes [autistic-led]. De futures recherches devraient développer des programmes de soutien post-diagnostique standardisés et évaluer leur efficacité.
