Résumé/Présentation

En réponse à l'article de Vivanti ‘Ask The Editor…’ [Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 50(2), 691–693], nous soutenons que l'utilisation du langage dans la recherche sur l'autisme a des conséquences concrètes pour les personnes autistes, y compris la stigmatisation, la déshumanisation et la violence. De plus, le débat sur l'utilisation du langage axé sur la personne versus le langage axé sur l'identité devrait avant tout se concentrer sur les besoins, l'autonomie et les droits des personnes autistes, afin de préserver leur droit à l'autodétermination. Enfin, nous proposons des orientations pour les recherches futures.
